From November to April the Gulf is warm, calm and twenty minutes from the airport. Steep golden mountains drop straight into the water in Musandam, dolphins swim the fjords, and the islands west of Abu Dhabi are almost empty.
A week aboard
Day 1: board at Dubai Harbour. Day 2 to 3: the islands off Abu Dhabi and Sir Bani Yas. Day 4: back past the Dubai skyline at night. Day 5 to 7: north to Musandam, Telegraph Island and the quiet inlets of Khor ash Sham.
